We are a small, but continually expanding team, who share a vast knowledge and a wealth of experience in the corporate event industry.

Long before Bright Sky Events began, both directors trained and worked in the hospitality industry, so have an innate ability to know what works in an event space and understand how events are best delivered. Eventually progressing into hotel operations and sales management means that collectively we have over 20 years of hands-on experience in hotels, venues and corporate events.

You could say we know the business inside out – literally.

Mike has lived and breathed Conference & Events all his working life. After graduating from University, he started his career with an International 5* Hotel group and has worked since as everything from Night Porter to Conference & Banqueting Manager to Sales Director.

He was Director of Sales for a UK Hotel Group and has been the Director of a conference and events agency since 2006. Mike is truly passionate about the industry and thrives on the challenge of consistently delivering high quality and unique events.

Jo began her working life with an International 5* Hotel group, where she worked for many years, predominantly in conference and banqueting. A move away from the industry saw a 7-year stint in Field Sales for an International Paper Company and led to 3 years of running her own sales & marketing consultancy alongside starting a family.

Setting up Bright Sky Events with Mike has been the opportunity for her to combine her sales and marketing experience with a return to an industry she loves.

Rich joined us from the De Vere hotel group where he had worked within both the operations and sales management teams. As one of our account managers he is often our client’s first point of contact and will ensure the coordination and administration of your events are in order whilst working closely with the team. He has a great eye for detail whilst building a good rapport with our clients.

Ellen’s experience in hotels, conferences and events is vast. Since studying travel & tourism at college she has worked in hotels and travel all over the world. Her more recent experience in running corporate events means she is perfectly suited to being one of our account managers and she enjoys getting stuck into site visiting and on-site event management with our clients.

Helen previously worked in project management for 15 years whilst running several part-time jobs in hospitality alongside. Working as one of our account managers she particularly enjoys getting stuck into site visiting and on-site event management with our clients.

Rebecca supports Ellen in looking after a rapidly growing list of clients. Her attention to detail is second to none and she will often pick up mistakes that no one else has spotted!

Gemma returns to work after a short break to start her family. She has a wealth of experience in events and comes from Capital radio where she worked for 9 years, latterly as Events & Marketing Co-ordinator. She also supports Ellen with looking after her client list.

Charlotte has worked in a variety of sales roles and as head of events for a silent auction company before joining Bright Sky. She supports Rich with looking after his clients.

Events Manager

Simon graduated from university and has been in the Hotel, Conference and Events industry ever since. He has worked in every hotel department and has managed several hotel properties throughout his career.

He is a qualified Chef and brings a great skill set to the events we produce. He views the service of food & drink through the eyes of both a Chef and a Hotel General Manager. Simon plays a key role in the successful delivery of our large events and is involved with pre-event meetings as well as being on site throughout the duration of the event.

Wayne has worked in the Conference & Events sector for over 15 years. He has worked for various companies as a Technician and progressed to be a Senior Project Manager within the industry. He now has a broad understanding of standards set in all types of events ranging from Conferences, Product Launches, Live Events & Exhibitions.
